Our Beginnings

LJOR Church...A Historical Perspective

It was towards the beginning of a new year when, in a sovereign move of the Holy Spirit, a group of Pastors from NCR, Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao with a common passion for souls assembled and committed towards fulfilling God’s divine mandate of preaching the Gospel to the ends of the world. As clearly confirmed by God’s Word through one of its founders and Bishop Emeritus, Adolfo “Chito” B. Aquino, the church was to fulfill its prophetic mandate in Isaiah 49:6-7a:

It is too small a thing for you to be my servant
to restore the tribes of Jacob
and bring back those of Israel I have kept.
I will also make you a light for the Gentiles,
that you may bring my salvation to the ends of the earth.

This is what the LORD says—
the Redeemer and Holy One of Israel.”

Thus, on January 4, 2001, the Lord Jesus Our Redeemer Church was born in Marikina City, caught by the vision of becoming not only “soul winners,” but “soul restorers,” as well – winning back those brethren in the faith who might have grown spiritually cold. Soaked with a fresh anointing, the founding pastors and members of the LJOR Church rallied behind its mission, to: “Love God, Love One Another; Proclaim, Teach and Advance God’s Kingdom to the Ends of the World.”

On January 18, 2001, the LORD JESUS OUR REDEEMER CHURCH FOUNDATION INTERNATIONAL, INC. was duly registered with the Securities & Exchange Commission of the Republic of the Philippines as a non-stock, non-profit, religious foundation, leading to the establishment of LJOR churches all over the major regions of the Philippines (NCR, Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao).

February 17, 2001, LJOR Church was formally inaugurated during its 1st General Assembly at the Jade Valley Restaurant in Quezon City led by Rev. Chito B. Aquino. Witnessed by Local Church Elders from various LJOR Churches, each of the 15-man Council of Elders was ordained for service in the ministry, as well as the rest of its Pastors and Associate Pastors.

It is presently based at the heart of the metropolis, at Unit 904 Vivaldi Residences, 628 EDSA cor. Aurora Blvd., Cubao, Quezon City.

July 2005 the Philippine Council of Evangelical Churches (PCEC) ratified the LJOR Church as a denominational member during the PCEC 26th National Assembly held at Bacolod City.

Committed towards fulfilling the Great Commandment and the Great Commission, the LJOR Church focuses on four (4) main programs: Churchplanting, Church Growth, Community Development and Cross-cultural Missions.
